Sweet chilli wraps

Sweet and simple, this dish will serve you well when you don’t have too much time. It is such a simple recipe you can easily change ingredients to your liking.

  • Ingredients (for 4 wraps)

    • 250gr (4 kebabs) VERO Smoky Barbeque plant-based kebabs, defrosted
    • 1 pack of medium sized wraps (brown, white or multi-seed)
    • 1 cucumber, sliced into ribbons
    • 1 carrot, sliced into ribbons
    • 1 tub of your favorite hummus
    • ¼ red cabbage, chopped
    • ½ Romaine lettuce Sweet chilli sauce
    • 1 lemon, cut in half
    • Pepper & salt

      TIP: For variation, use the VERO Spicy Chilli or Flame Grilled plant-based kebabs.

  • Preparation (10 minutes)

    • Heat a frying pan with oil and pan fry the defrosted VERO Smoky Barbeque kebabs for 3-4 minutes until heated throughout. After frying, remove from skewers and cut into smaller pieces.
    • Heat the wraps one by one in frying pan or over open fire until they start to turn light brown. (alternatively, you can fill the wrap first, and then place it on a hot grill pan for 2 to 3 minutes, before flipping it over to grill the other side for 2-3 minutes).
    • Use a potato peeler to shave ribbons off the cucumber and the carrots.
    • Lay the wrap flat on a plate, and let the filling begin: spread the hummus across the wrap, add the VERO chunks, the cucumber and carrot ribbons, the red cabbage and the lettuce. Align the filling along the center of the wrap allowing space at the bottom and the sides for folding.
    • Add the sweet chilli sauce all along the filling, and add salt, pepper and squeeze the lemon halves to drizzle lemon juice to taste.
    • Fold the wrap by folding up the bottom first, then fold over one side followed by the other side, so only the top of the wrap is still open. We like to then still add a little of the sweet chilli sauce on top.
